There is some info on Mobley emigrants to Brazil earlier on this forum at messages 1170, 1171 and 1607.
It seems as if the Samuel Wagner Mobley and Mary Elizabeth Key Mobley settled in Canavieiras, Bahia prior to 1868, where they seem to have been close to the Scofield family.
At the same time Walter Wagner Scofield and Eleanora Elizabeth Mobley Scofield settled in Betim, Minas Gerais; and other related Scofields also settled in Canavieiras.
There are now very many descendents, especially Scofields in Bahia.
These families do not seem to feature specifically in any of the literature o the "Confederados" emigrants to Brazil, except that a Walter Schofield, single, was in Dr George Barnsley's group that sailed from Galveston for Brazil on 25 Jan 1867, on the steamer 'Derby' but which was wrecked on Cuba. Most of the party eventually reached Brazil, but if this Schofield did so, it is clear that he did not go to the Barnsley-McMullen colony at Iguape, São Paulo.
