Capt. Thomas T. Mobley & his wife, Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Funbderburg were my great-great-greatgrandparents through their son Daniel. Thomas T. Mobley was born in Fairfield County, SC c. 1764, son of Ann Osborn & William Moberley. He married Betsy Funderburg, daughter of Henry Funderburg and Mary Green, c.1782 in Fairfield County. Betsy died August 27, 1807 in Georgia
Thomas T. Mobley served in Revolutionary War; supposedly, when Edward Hampton had his horse shot out from under him in the rout of Dunlap’s British, Thomas gave him a horse; the rank of captain seems to have come from service after the war, in the South Carolina Militia
