Christine Ressie Tester Morelock, 73, Sullivan Gardens,
Sullivan Co TN, died at 9 p.m. Saturday evening, January 5,
2008 after an extended illness. She was born in Johnson
County, Tennessee, she moved to Pennsylvania in her teens
having worked at the mushroom cannery. She moved to
Kingsport in 1979. She later worked at Jack’s Restaurant
in Kingsport, the Life Care Center in Church Hill, and at
the Kingsport Press. She was a member of the Pineview
Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and
Dolly Tester; son, Terry Wayne Morelock (on May 29, 1997);
daughter, Phyllis Lee Morelock (on November 12, 2007);
sister, Arlene T. Burgess; and an infant brother, Billy
Glen Tester.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Morelock, of the home;
one son, Dennis Tester and wife Jennie, Mountain City, TN;
grandchildren, Caleb, Austin, and Dustin; sisters, Jean
Lewis, Mountain City, TN, Lois Tester, Mountain City, TN,
Margie Trivett, Bristol, TN, and Joyce Bradley and husband
Jack, Butler, TN; one brother, Robert Joe Tester and wife
Mary Lou, Trade, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday,
January 9, 2008 in the funeral home chapel of Hamlett-
Dobson Funeral Home with Rev. John Crawford officiating.
Music was provided by Shauna Slemp.
Burial followed in Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church
Cemetery. Family members and friends were pallbearers.
Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport was in charge of
the arrangements.
