Having seen an obituary online for a Culvin Ford Collins, Jr., I felt strongly it was related to my Fords.
Culvin Ford Collins, Jr. was born July 18, 1880 in St. Louis and died Dec. 26, 1922 also St. Louis.
Culvin, Sr., his father was born July 1850 Mississippi and had a wife named Sudie B. Sept. 1860 in Texas.
Culvin, Sr. Father was born in Tn. And his mother was born in Virginia.
Most of the above information from census records.
We have a Prudence (Patience) Ford that married a Burrell W. Collins in Charlotte Co., VA Jan 7, 1833. We know they were living in Henderson Co., TN in 1836
We have her sister Sophia (Sophronia) Ford b. 25 Feb 1817 (One World Tree) that married a William P. (Price?) Collins, son of Reverend Elisha Collins, in Charlotte Co., VA May 16, 1834. We know they were living in Lexington, TN in 1838.
The two sisters were of 10 children of my 5th great grandparents Abner Ford and Elizabeth Dawson, son of Revolutionary Soldier John Dawson.
Abners father (MY LINE CONTINUED) was Culverine Ford b ca. 1728 a Revolutionary Patriot, and his father was William Ford and his wife Liddy.
Abner and Elizabeth Ford of Charlotte Co., VA had these other 8 children:
John Dawson Ford, whom married 1. Mary Watkins Brooks father Rev. James and 2. Catherine E. Wilson
Elizabeth, whom married Col. John Harvey, father Isham
Sarah (Sally) Dawson whom married Henry Lacy Thornton father William Lacy Thornton
Culverine (Culvin), (MY LINE) married Olivia (Selia) West Jones, father James Saunders Jones, were very well off and prominent and are buried in Spring Hill Cemetery, Lynchburg, VA
Peyton R. Ford, married Mary Elizabeth Pugh, father Ezekiel.
Patrick Henry Ford (named after the Patriot whom was a neighbor and related and helped Abner’s brothers (John Ford) in a murder trial in Charlotte Co., VA, Married Lucy Malinda White, father John.
Mary married her cousin Thomas Garrett Ford of “High Hill Farm” nearby. His parents Hezekiah Ford (Father Culverine b. Ca. 1728) and Ann Garrett.
Elvina (Elvira) (Vine) married Henry Glover Roberts.
