I'm looking for the Peden family that owned my great-grandfather Scott Peden. He took the Peden when he was
freed in 1865 in Mississippi at 16 yrs.
The 1860 Slave Schedule shows an 11 black male slave
belonging to Thomas W. Peden in Kemper County, Mississippi.
Scott remained in Kemper County then moved to East St. Louis
shortly before his death in 1922.
