I have traced my line back to a Clement Nance b.1795 in Virginia who married Elizabeth Philips in Grainger Co. TN on 11 Jun 1827 (he later married Susan (Roach) Mallicoat on 12 FEB 1866). There is another Nance in Grainger Co. that could be a brother or possible father(he was born in 1780 so is probably a brother), Rueben Nance. According to LDS records Reuben Nance is the son of John and Mary Nance from Henry Co. Virgina. I think these would be the parents of my Clement Nance but have no proof other than close proximity to the traceable Rueben Nance. Any help with this brick wall would be appreciated. Thanks!
