There was a medal given out years after the war to the "old timers" who fought under Napoleon. I can't remember the details, but I believe it was called the Medal of St. Helene, or something like that. There is a list of soldiers(veterns) that were awarded this medal. This is all I remember.

Perhaps if you do a google search on "Medal of St. Helene" or "St. Helene" you can learn more.

This medal was only awarded to those veterns that were still alive and living in France many, many years after the war. Perhaps someone else on this forum knows more about it.
