Hello Sherry Although I am not related at all to Conner H. Smith, I know quite a lot about him. His name was not Conner H. Smith BUT he himself put the "H." in his name. At that time frame every man was called D.E. McIver, Col. L.C. Jones, therefore, Conner needed an initial in order to be called C.H. Smith versus C. Smith. Would love to have you in our Genealogical and Historical Society. I am the editor and published about 25+ pages of material every newsletter. If you will join our society, I will help you with lots of information on C.H. Smith. In September I was on television about the buildings C.H. had built. Until the 1920s, the largest building in Sanford was built by C.H. Smith. Also he owned the most beautiful wooden building, the McIver Building, from 1910-1932 when it was sold. Our Lee County Genealogical and Historical Society has for sale two photos of the McIver Building--$5 for a 5x7 or $10 for an 8x10 plus shipping. Also included is a one page history of the McIver building. Sandra McKee Notify Administrator about this message?
