I'm looking for a Jesse M. Nelms who was born in MS and migrated to TX via LA. In 1870, he was living in Claiborne Parish, LA, then in 1880 he was in Comanche, TX. In 1900 and 1910, he was in Stephens, TX.
One census lists him as a physician. There's also an obituary for his first wife Sarah in 1876 in Jacksboro, TX that also says he's a doctor.
There's also a Jonathan Nelms living in Claiborne, LA at the same time as Jesse M.
There's a story that 3 brothers, Claiborne, Jonathan, and Martin migrated from Elbert, GA to Carroll County, MS sometime around the 1830's.
Jesse M. would possibly be my gr-gr-grandfather from my gr-grandfather Jesse Leroy Nelms. There's a grave for Jesse Leroy's first wife Amanda in Comanche, TX.
Anybody got any info?
