My children's father decends on his father's mothers side from Susan Helen Styron bn 1844 in Ala/died 1914 Biloxi. Susan married Joseph Thornton, bn 1844, a sailor from England, 1866 Bay Minette, Ala..
Susan is the dau of Abisha Styron bn 1812 in N.C. and Helen Mawr Tatum, bn Pa.
I believe Abisha Styron is the son of Edward Styron and Esther Nelson, bn ca 1786 of N.C.
I have the book "The Styron Family in America" by D.A. Padgett but can't seem to make a connection.
Also looking for information abt Helen Mawr Tatum's parents, Edmond Beech Tatum and Sarah Whitebread Straton.
