I am seeking to flesh out this branch of my family. As far as I can tell he was a prominent landholder in Florida and southern Georgia. I have been unable to locate either Malcolm NICHOLSON nor his wife Mary (AVIRETT) NICHOLSON in the 1840, 1850, or 1860 US Census. Any clues would be a big help. I do have a record from the supreme court of Florida regarding the distribution of property from his will. Apparently his daughter Arabella died in 1845 and the widowed husband, Wiley BLEWITT, sought to gain her share of the estate. Wiley and Arabella married on 6 Feb 1844 in Early Co., GA. Apparently Arabella's siblings weren't pleased with the idea of distributing property to an in-law that had only been "in the family" for about a year.
