Deceased Name: Alma E. Sarsany
WITT - Alma E. Sarsany, 93, of Witt died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at Hillsboro Hospital.
She was born May 17, 1913, in Curran, the daughter of LeRoy "Cotton" and Louisa McDaniel Nickelson. She married Harold Cox in 1932 in Springfield; he died in 1965. She then married Nicholas Sarsany in 1969 in Witt. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Lynn Cox.
Mrs. Sarsany was a state employee, worked at Hawkeye Insurance, Stauders and owned and operated a grocery store. She was a member of Witt Methodist Church.
Survivors: son, Glenn (wife, Linda) Cox of Loami; daughter, Pat (husband, Russ) Sperry of Witt; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Donna Lenhart of Springfield.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Witt Methodist Church, the Rev. Bobbi Blackard and the Rev. Chris Comerford officiating. Burial: Chatham Cemetery.
Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Witt is in charge of arrangements.
