LaLonde's or LaLande's of New Mexico

Hi- I have reached a road block in the parentage of a Juan Babtiste Lalonde or Jean Baptiste Lalande b. abt 1795 in Illinois, d. 8 Feb 1821. According to some records he is listed as being born in Illinois and that his father was also a Jean Baptiste LaLonde of Canada or Louisiana and his mother is called Margarita (or Marguerite) Lestrada or Lefevre or in some cases Margarita Alameda.

Jean Baptiste LaLande married Maria Polonia Lucero in New Mexico and had 5 children before his death in 1821, His daughter Maria Dolores b. 1816 was my 3 times great grandmother. Maria Dolores married Gervacio (Gervais) Nolan also of Canada.

Does anyone have any information regarding the origins of this family? I believe their ancestry is Canadian via France. Also:

This is the same man who married Maria Polonioa Lucero and fathered Maria Dolores LaLande...
