Wiley John Prickett Jr-New Mexico around 1907

My great grandfather Wiley John Prickett, Jr. went to New Mexico in about 1907, where it is said he introduced angora goats to the area. The land "grant" he received turned out to be a scam; the area was already set aside for a school, so he returned to Texas a broken man. Does anyone have any information about this?
