I received this information on Mary (Norris) Allerton from Steve Norris <Steve@mountainappraisers.com>. So I cannot verify if it is correct but it does fit into my Norris ancestry. She was a daughter of my immigrant ancestor Rev. Edward Norris, fourth pastor of the church at Salem, MA. He was vicar of the Church but because of his books relating the the troubled issues was persecuted by the Church of England. He lost his parish and escaped for awhile to Holland as many were doing at that time. Fearing further persecution he sent his congregation ahead of himself to America where they joined the young Puritans at Salem, MA.
PEDIGREE: Mary Norris, b. abt. 1587, Newbury, Engl.; Rev. Edwrd Norris II, b. 1579, Tetbury, Engl.; Edward Norris I, b. at. 1550, Tetbury, Engl.; Richard Norris, b . abt. 1525, Tetbury, Engl.; Gilbert Norris III, b. abt. 1465, Tet bury, Engl.; Gilbert Norris II, b. abt. 1440, Eng.; Gilbert Norreys I, b. abt. 15=410, England; Robert Nrreys, b. ab.t 1375, England.
