This is his obituary.

The Daily Republican, Friday July 25, 1924 Page 1, Column 4

"LOCAL MAN IS DEAD RESULT OF ACCIDENT" Rube Northcutt, Well Known in City Died Late Yesterday as Result of Accident. He was In Several Months Ago."

Rube Northcutt, aged 61 years, a life long resident of this county, died at 6 o'clock yesterday evening following a stroke of paralysis believed to have been brought on by injuries received several months ago when an automobile struck a delivery wagon in which Northcutt and P.T. Nance were riding, knocked both of the men from the wagon and seriously injured the former.

Since the accident Mr. Northcutt has never been well. He has had severe headaches, and his condition has grown worse almost daily since that time. It is believed by members of his family that the accident brought on troubles which resulted in the well known man's death.

Mr. Northcutt had been in business in Poplar Bluff from time to time for many years. He came down town yesterday about noon and the paralytic stroke attacked him about three o'clock. Little could be done other than to relieve his suffering during the three hours before he died.

The deceased married Nellie Sliger 15 years ago. He was connected with Mr. Nance in the furniture business on North Boradway at the time of his death. He was a member and an active worker of the Nazarane Church. He is survived by his widow, two sisters and two brothers. They are Mrs. John Miller of Poplar Bluff, Mrs. John Gilbert of St. Louis, George Northcutt of Okema, Okla., and Tom Northcutt of Kennett. The last three are expected to arrive this afternoon.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The services will be conducted by Mr. Dees, Superintendent of the Nazarene Church, and burial will be at Marble Hill Cemetery. J.J. Frank in charge.

Hope this is of interest.

Thanks, Cindy Owens
