I just saw your posting (thanks to Google) and think that the subject Obadiah may be the stone wall that I have been butting my head against for years. I have a Obadiah C. Thompson listed in the 1920 Union Co., Mississippi census which states that he, as well as his parents, were born in GA. My Obadiah list his father's name as being Obadiah (no middle name listed) Thompson. My Obadiah was born in about 1865. (His age is listed as being 55 in the 1920 census.)
