Hi Cindy, here's what I know from my relatives.

My GG grandfather Jesse O'Barr had a cousin named Mathew. There are some O'Barrs in Mississippi who belive they were brothers instead of cousins; since Jesse took his family to Miss. where he died after the civil war. We would like to know mare about their relationship as we haven't found a mention of Matthew living in Alabama, but my mother did find Mathis in Shelby County where Jesse was a witness at his marriage to Rebecca Tucker.

What we know for sure about Thomas before Alabama. He lived in Hall County at the same time as Robert O'Barr, a Baptist Minister. Georgia genealogist Sybil McRay told me that they were brothers. At the same time Michael O'Barr had children in the Poor Childrens school. And I believe that he is another brother--same age generation. So does Bobbie(another O'Barr)who is descended from this Michael.

We speculate that these three men were grandsons of Michael O'Barr of Ireland and either children of Daniel or Robert. Probably Robert, because Daniel went to Tennessee. Another brother, Hugh, moved north after the Revolution and dropped the O'. Although there are other names like John, Thomas or Thompsey (which I've been told by somebody was a woman.) So until we find proof, we still don't know who their father was.
I would love to exchainge everything I have for what you have.
