Hello, Cousin John - You kind enough to send me what you have on my Grandmother, Ione Gammel O'Callaghan and I in turn snail mailed you what I had to your address in Lubbock. I trust that you received it.
I think I told you that I did not have any knowledge of my grandmother Ione having the name "Jane", however, I do not have a copy of her birth certificate so I have no way of knowing if this is indeed her name or not. We did not hear a lot about our grandparents - seems there might have been some controversy over a "land line" with my Grandfather and Mama Ione's father, William Henry Gammel. Since all the siblings are dead now - and oh how I wish I had spend more time asking questions - we have no way of getting the "true story". I have a couple of cousins that are older than I am who may have some stories to tell or perhaps some lies.... and I plan to bend their ear the next time I am down in the country. I also plan to take some pictures of the grave stones in the cemetery there at the church - Fairfield Presbyterian - and when I do I will either mail or scan (if I ever figure out how) them to you. I look forward to hearing from you...If you plan a trip to this part of the country, please you, your wife and any other family please plan to stay with us. I would love to hear your stories about the family.
