Thank you, Robert. Our info suggests that John & Elizabeth moved from NJ to Monroe Cty PA and then to Tioga Cty NY. There is some info in the Tioga Gazeteer, a county history book. However, none of the usual sources of Rev war officer information lists a John Smyth or Smith from NJ. Someone in the family supposedly served as a magistrate in the county judicial system in NJ, but we can't find military records.
