I have just come across your exchange about Ogden/Hopkins in Canada. I was interested cos I have an article from The Beaver (Canadian journal) of August 1971, entitled 'Edward and Frances Hopkins of Montreal'. I guess you know it. It gives Ann/e Ogden's father as Isaac Ogden of Three Rivers (I know some French!) Quebec, whose eldest daughter she was. Were there two Isaacs, or was this Isaac in fact Peter Skene Ogden's brother?
My own interest is in Hopkins, not Ogden. This is UK-based, and goes back to a question of how Edward Martin H's father, Martin Edward H., of London, came to meet Ann Manley so that they married. This is all linked in to the genealogy of the poet Gerard Manley Hopkins and some forebears of my own. Do you know anything of sources for Edward Martin H. which might help me?
