I am researching the line of John Scripture Peabody born 22 May 1869 in Salem, Massachusetts to John Perley & Sarah Abigail True.

John S and his siblings were the last listed descendents of that line in the Peabody Genealogy by Selim Hobart Peabody.

No mention was made of his marriage. I believe that he married Alice Midgley 23 December 1899 in Lowell, Massachusetts. She was born in England and moved to America in 1886.

They had at least one child according to the 1910 and 1920 Census. Robert Winthrop Peabody was born 4 June 1904 in Blemont, Massachusetts. Robert is named for his maternal grandfather Robert Midgley and his paternal great-grandfather Winthrop True.

John S & Alice were living at 37 Bartlett St in Belmont, Massachusetts for at least 20 years (1910-1930 Census) where he worked for the Telephone company.

Robert W Peabody was living at 97 Mitchell St in Providence, Rhode Island during the 1930 Census and was a teacher at one of the public schools. He married Elinor L ? 1926 in Belmont, Massachusetts. Robert, Sr. died 23 February 2001 with his last known residence as Fort Myers, Florida.

They also had at least one child, Robert Winthrop Peabody, Jr. born 1928 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

John S and Alice were living in Providence 11 November 1951 when her brother Hartley Midgley died for which she is mentioned.

If anyone has any information on this line, I would love to get in touch with you.
