Hi,
From what I understand, there are no records from Hampton, NH (then MA) to confirm the identity of Francis' wife, Lydia. There is speculation that her maiden name was Perkins due to a close association between the two families in Hampton and a court case involving both Lydia Peabody and Susan Perkins (involving slanderous speech on the part of Eunice Cole, wife of William). I found that information in several online postings including one that referenced the "historian of Hampton...in his genealogies." The same entry references the "Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire," by Charles Thornton Libby, which to date I have not had the chance to check personally.
