I have been trying to find Elizabeth Peachey born 5/5/1777 married to James Austing 31/1/1808 at Christ Church Greyfriars Newgate St, London. To date I have not had much success. This however a puzzle I have just come across and that is there was a Robert Peachey whom was married to an Elizabeth ?. This Robert was born in 1753 in Burwell Cambridgeshire and died in 1830 in Burwell. It meantions that his wife was born in 1777. In his will he states:
Robert Peachey's Will.
His Will PROB11/1782 probate dated 1831 Quire 106 Page 39 2nd line, quotes
'.....in trust for all and every the children and child of my brother William Peachey of my sister Sarah the widow of Thomas French and of Ann the wife [of] Mathew Middleditch which said Ann was the sister of my former wife...'
Now I am assuming from this that the Ann mentioned here is the sister of Elizabeth who also has no 'nee' name mentioned. There is no death of Elizabeth mentioned here but Elizabeth is refered to as 'former wife'. My Elizabeth married James Austing when she was about 31. So it could be that my Elizabeth is the same one that had married Robert Peachey and then either divorced or took off and married James Austing under her previous married name instead of her 'nee' name. If anyone can shed light on this I would be very grateful.
