Jon-
I'm in awe of your great research; thank you. My interest in Col. Peachey is strictly military as I am not related. I have two related projects I'm researching that may or may not have anything to do with Col. Peachey.

1. While searching for Rowlands of Botetourt Co. whom I found in Revolutionary Soldiers pg 1405
Rowland, Thomas Captain Botetourt County
Rowland, James Col. Peachey's Co. Fincastle County
I have lots of info re Thomas' military history, but little re. James, and wondering if knowing more about Peachey's Co. would help.

2. I'm hoping to identify the members of the "VA Volunteers". You show Col. Peachey buying land in Oct. 1764, so I'm guessing this may eliminate him from my list of possible VA officers and men who --for legal reasons-- temporarily resigned from the militia in order to accompany Col. Bouquet's Expedition in 1764-65. They were referred to in Bouquet's papers as the "Virginia Volunteers".

Thanks again for your reply.

Joanne
