David Pease b. 1651 son of Benjamin confirm death?

I haven't posted in a few years and am re-visiting the Pease line, going back over all of my old dead ends.

I noticed in my records I have a death date for David, son of Benjamin, of 12 0CT 1689, and I have no citation for that.

I also have the same death date for Samuel Pease, David's brother. The circumstances for Samuel's death are known -- he was battling pirates, near Newport, RI and was shot.

If I just made a mistake on David's death date, I see it is now being used by others on the internet in their various family trees.

Can anybody tell me if David was perhaps on Samuel's ship with him, that day in Newport? Or do I have the date wrong?
