This family is put together from Pennsylvania census data. I’m going to assume the family structure is as follows: Lewis Peasey; b. about 1780 in France; m. Margaret; b. about 1793 in PA. During the 1850 census, Lewis was in Ward 5 Kensington, Philadelphia, PA, and he was working as a cabinet maker. Children of Lewis and Margaret Peasey born in Pennsylvania: John b. 1823 d. George H. b. 1830 d. John Peasey; b. about 1823 in PA; m. Jane; b. about 1823 in PA. During the 1850 census, John was the head of the household in Ward 5 Kensington, Philadelphia, PA and he was working as a caster. His parents were also in the same household. Children of John and Jane Peasey born in PA: Hester b. 1848 d. George b. 1849 d. George H. Peasey; b. about 1830 in Philadelphia, PA; m. Mary; b. about 1835 in Philadelphia. During the 1850 census, George was in his father’s household in Ward 5 Kensington, Philadelphia, PA, and he was listed as a brick maker. In 1860, he was in Ward 19 Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA and the enumerator listed Philadelphia as the birthplace of all family members. George H. Peze served as a private Jan 17, 1865 with Company C 40th Regiment, New Jersey Infantry. His record states that he deserted from Company C Jun 28, 1865 at Hall’s Hill, VA. In 1870 and 1880, the family was still in ward 19, but listed under the surname Peze. Mary Peze as a widow filed a Civil War pension application number 916001 on what appears to be Mar 20, 1909. At that time he was working as a self employed dealer and listed his mother as his nearest living relative. He was described as having a medium build, blue eyes and light hair. He signed his draft card with the surname Peze. He also filed his WWII draft card Apr 27, 1942 when he was residing at 2434 W. Harold Street in Philadelphia. He listed Josephine as the “person who will always know your address”, and his phone number was Bal 5000. George stated that he was in the fruit business for himself. At that time, he was described as being 5’ 10” tall, weighing 175 pounds, and having gray eyes, brown hair, and a light complexion. Samuel Peze; b. May 24, 1887 in Philadelphia. Samuel was single and residing at 2525 W. Huntington Street in Philadelphia when he filed his WWI draft registration card. At that time he was a driver for Charles Sachramnauer (spelling??) of the same address as his, and described as being tall with a medium build, brown eyes and dark brown hair. He also stated on his draft card that he had served for three years as a private with Company M 6th Regiment of the Pennsylvania Nation al Guard. He signed his card with the surname Peze. Benjamin Franklin Peze; b. Nov 25, 1897 in Philadelphia, PA; d. Jan 1970 in Philadelphia; m. Catherine A. Lynch; b. about 1897 in PA. According to the 1930 census, her father was born in Ireland and her mother in England. Benjamin filed a WWI draft registration card Sep 1918 in Philadelphia, PA using and signing his surname Pease. He resided at 208 East Street in Wissahickon, Philadelphia County, PA, and was working as a grinder roller for Standard Roller Bearing at 22nd and Lehighton Streets in Philadelphia. He was described as having a medium build, gray eyes and brown hair. In 1920, there was a Benjamin Peas living as a boarder on Levering Street in Ward 21 of Philadelphia. He was 24; b. in PA. His parents are listed as being born in France, and he was listed as being married, but his wife is not in the same household.
