Seeking the parents of this guy:
Joseph William Pease; b. Jan 1842 in Illinois; d. Sep 02, 1902 in Custer Co, NE; bur. with his wives in Arnold Cemetery, Arnold, NE; m. (1) Feb 02, 1868 in Pottawatomie County, Kansas by Justice of the Peace John Collins, to Laura Etta Howe; d. May 26, 1888 age 39 in Custer Co, NE. Her tombstone epitaph:
"She was a kind and affectionate wife,
a fond mother and a friend to all"
She was the daughter of Thomas Howe; b. 1820 in NY, and Jerusha Kilmer; b. May 1822 in NY; d. 1900; bur. Mt. Zion Cemetery, Kilmer Valley, NE. During the 1880 census Joseph and his family were living in Rock Creek, Pottawatomie Co, KS. The census enumerator used only initials for given names. Joseph moved to Arnold, NE about 1884. Joseph’s tombstone epitaph:
"Dearest father thou hast left us here,
thy loss we deeply feel,
but tis God who hath bereft us,
He can all our sorrows heal"

Joseph William Pease m. (2) Jun 01, 1897, as her fourth husband Clarissa Ann (Howe-Case- Miller) Johnson; b. Mar 04, 1847 in Steuben Co, IN; d. Mar 21, 1940 in Arnold, NE. She was the sister of Laura Etta Howe, Joseph’s first wife. Clarissa m. (1) Jan 22, 1864 in Home, KS, George William Case; b. Aug 15, 1834 in PA; div. She m. (2) in Kansas, Morton Johnson; b. in Indiana. She m. (3) Jun 12, 1867 in Seneca, KS, August Miller; b. Oct 29, 1826 in Prussia or Germany; divorced. In 1900, Joseph listed as a farmer and his family was living next to his son Harrison in Burt Pct., Logan Co, NE. Both of Joseph’s parents are listed as being born in PA. Clarissa Ann (Howe-Case- Miller-Johnson) Pease m. (5) Knudt Carlson.
