Peck family

you go from one day to the next with no information and then you find something that intrigues you to no end.
Going backwards from my Father in law I have found this information that has been exciting to say the least.
Thank you Constance for the information you supplied to this puzzle.
Edward Peck was my father in law, born 1920, Enid Ok.
His father was Edward H Peck 1901 in Kentucky
His Father Was Robert A Peck.
Robert Peck received a letter from the German Gov prior to WW1
indicating that the family was heir to property on the Rhine River and it was indicated that a castle was also on the property. The letter indicated if they paid the back taxes the property would be turned over to them.
Apparently the ancestor who had owned the property was a Baron who was also one of the two body guards to Kaiser Wilhelm ll.
I am at a loss as to where to attempt to locate the name and information on the Baron. I know his first name was Andrew but no one seems to know how to spell middle or the last name. The middle name is something like Pardinghoff and the last is something like Boudy or Booty.
Apparently the Baron after the Kaiser outlawed dueling fought one and fled Germany to avoid the penalty that was to be imposed.
The name was apparently changed somewhere in this mess.
Any help would be welcomed here.
