Here is all that is said about Mary Johnson

Peebles Ante 1600 -1962

pg.68
" These multiple mentions of Drury-5 help us very little in acurately determining his dscts. He apparently had a wife before Rebecca and Dolly, and William Peebles-6 b.1754 Va., who went to Ga., was a son of that wife. Dscts.of that William say William mother was
" Mary Johnson, a famous beauty from Maryland "
No m. bonds in Pr.Geo. Co. Va., and few anywhere especially in N.C. She must also have been the mother of Drury-6 2nd b.c.1760 "

Info. You may know;
Wm.Hartwell Peebles-6 another son of Drury Peeples was the overseer of the Turner Plantation, He was killed as were many other whites by slaves in what was called the Nat Turner Insurrection War. When they were captured one of them was wearing Mr.Peebles clothes. [ interesting info on the net ]
