Sorry about that ! **************** More info. on Drury Peebles; Peebles Ante 1600-1962 pg.67 [ excerts ] Drury-5 first appears in any records at the Quaker marriage of Willim Binford of Pr.Geo. and Mary Peebles, widow of his uncle Joseph, signed under his father Wm.-4 and his stepmother Agness, Huldah wife of Peter-4 this was the 18th day of the 7th mo.1752, and Drury was at least 16, and probably a year or so older. Drury Peebles and Constance Jones [da.of Henry-3 Peebles] witt. deed Oct.31 1758 in Northampton Co, N.C. purchased 300 ac. on Cypress Swamp Feb.7 1772 Drury and wife Rebecca sold 300 ac. Aug.1 1777 Drury Peeples pchd. of Drury Jordan, both of Brunswick Co. Va., 200 ac. adj.land to said Peebles and others, on the north side of Fountains Cr, Land Drury already had must have came thru Rebecca, as no previous deed. Deeds by and to other people show Drury's land was on the Cain Br.and the Halifax Rd., Now a part of Route 301. Nov.8,1787 pchd.50 ac. on Elk Swamp and 250 ac. on Elk Marsh,Halifax Co. N.C. 1790 Halifax Co. N.C. Census show 2 wh. m. over 16, 6 wh.m. und.16 1 wh.f. 1 blk tith. However 1790 Greenville tax show total family as 6 wh. and 2 blk. M.Peeples PS.
