Jennett Cordelia S. Peebles, also went by Janet.
She was born in New York about 1823. Her parents were William F. Peebles Jr. and mother Mary Smith or White?
Jennett at about 19 married a Daniel William Wicks, born 1822 est. in New York. They moved to Boone Co. Illinios and there they stayed until their deaths.
Daniel died in 1883 and Jennett shortly after.
They had three children:
William Wicks born about 1845 married a Amanda Jane Houghtaling ,
Later he married a Mary Jane Armstrong. William had a total of six children:
Fredrick Daniel Wicks born 1877 in Nebraska
Wilma born about 1879 iliinios.
From his second marriage he would have four daughters. Gertrude, Vera, Nora and Elma Wicks
To Jennett and her husband Daniel would come next a son Westley Wicks but at age 16 or 17 he was killed in the Civil War.
Their last child was Mary J. Wicks born about 1850 married Stephen Dimond of Illinions. they would have four sons. Three I beieve were Frank, Jessie and Alden.
Daniel who may of been also called James, is my husbands great!! grandpa and we know so little about them and their lives. We are hoping that someone maybe related to Jennett and be able to share with us what they know We do know some on the Peebles family.
