Here is a little research on;
Seth Newton Peebles
I would certainly appreciate any factual [written ]info. on a Peebles-Peeples-Peoples, indian relationship. Since 1957 doing research I have found only one " good ? " possibility and that is on the Peoples name line, other than " my grandpaw told me " which don't carry much weight.

N.C., and died Abt. 1850 in Lowndes Co. Miss.. He married (1) JULIA ANN PETERS October 21, 1826 in Northampton Co., N.C., daughter of JOHN PETERS. He married (2) L. M. COLTRAINE 1843.

Seth Newton Peeples, was active in establishing the First National Bank in Columbus Ms.
It is also said before he left N.C. he helped subdue the Nat Turner insurrection in Southampton Co. Va. 1832.
