I am working on a paper on Peebles and the conflict over him between Gen. John Bankhead Magruder and the Texas Supreme Court in 1864.
I am looking for descendants who might have more personal or family information relating to him, and I will be happy to share.
The 1850 census shows two children who were probably the children of Jared Groce, III, but who show as having the last name of "Peoples." Does anyone know if these kids were adopted, or was this merely a census takers error?
