You asked if Peter Pence (b 1837) and Arthur Pence (b. 1847), borh mentioned in _Idaho Pioneers_, are reated.

The answere is No.

Peter Pence was the gradson of Peter Pence of Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, while Arthur Pence was a great grandson of Peter Pence of Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.

The two original Peters are often confused, as are some of their descvendants, but no relationship between the two has been found.
