I have just learned to use the genforum and what do my wandering eyes find..... my great grandmother (Sarah Ann Pender) listed in your reply. I have some info on the penders (parks, chinn, marble, ross,smithline-schmidtlein). I am on vacation but will get back to you when I get home to Cloquet, Mn the end of August. I lived in Clark Clounty where most of my penders lived after they left Canada. They were loyalist, that is why they were in Canada. Someone at one time told me the name broke off of Pendergast... I have not verified that. It has been said John may have been born in New Jersey....
