I wish you would get in touch with me other than e-mail I'm not good on a computer. I do have information and some photes. After the war he lost a great deal, but he still had his plantation. The whole family moved to Maury Co. Tn. They went by horse and buggy. On Sept 28 1869 he purchased land from James F. Gracey on Little Bigby Creek, near Columbia, Tn. he died 2 mts. later. Everyone returned to Greenwood except Eugene. I can't find my census , but I have it somewhere of Maury Co. 1900, and I think his mother was in Tn with Eugene at that time. Eugene was postmaster there. They also returned to Greenwood, I don"t know when. My husband is grandson of Laurence Pender, Gt. grandson of Maraduke. How are you related? They also had a cemetery where the plantation was. I have a photo of Mary Wells Pender and all of Marmaduke's sons. Jane
