Looking for the Pernat name. I am the great-granddaughter of a Anton Pernat (Pirnat unsure of spelling). He changed his name to Pender because they kept spelling his name wrong. He and his father Anton Pernat worked in the mines there. He lived in Minn. with his family they came to Minn. from Austria. The named was changed by a man named Charlie Wegerstee who's office was over the 1st National Bank, in Meyer's location. After Helen was born Anton changed his last name because of the mix up with the name. It would look like "Peanuts" or something. His father was not happy. Do you know of the name change? Three generations back my maiden name was spelled Pernat/Pirnat. It was changed to Pender by a great grandfather. Anton Pernat (Pirnat)-Pender. They lived in Minn and worked in the mines. Martin Pernat (Pirnat) married a Margaret Moditz, they had a child Anton. Anton Pernat (Pirnat) I don't have any information on, except that he had a son, Anton. Anton Married Helen Zigmond and Anton moved to Eveleth, Minnesota then sent for his wife. Anton Pender b 1902 died 1962 Married Elva G Dahl of Minnesota They had 3 children: Betty, Jack & Joanne. John Pender b 1904 M. Mary Skosich 4 children:William, Robert, Darlene, & Delores Rudolph Pender B. 1908 M. Kathryn Johnson 3 children: Rudy Jr 1928-1990 Helen & Rudolph "Britt" Pender B. 1931 D. 2000. Mary Pender b June 17, 1909 married 3 times. I would really like to get some dates on these people like Martin Pernat and Anton Pernat. I have had little help and I only get bits and pieces! Help me if you can. My Father is Jack.
