Thank you very much for your reply and the information. For some reason your reply was not forwarded to me, perhaps due to computer problems on my end at about the time of your posting. I just happened to log on to Pender tonight and found the posting.
Do you have any information on Luther's missing years? We know he was born in West Feliciana Parish, LA in 1858 but can't find him on any census until he appears in Attala Cty, MS. Nor can we find the date of his first marriage. There is a family story (that no one can prove or disprove) that he was sent to jail for some crime he had not committed. New evidence later proved him innocent but he left the area and never contacted his family again. His daughters somehow followed him.
Do you know what happened to Sarah Luther Pender's sister Clara? I have information on Luther Smith's second marriage but not much on the first.
Any info would be appreciated.
