Information on the Pender name change

I have found the Pirnat-Pernat Pender name. It came from Minnesota. My great-grandfather came over here from Yugoslavia/Slovenia (Austria) He changed his name because of an incident in Minnesota. The name was changed to Pender. Which is my maiden name. So any Pender's that are related to me have to have Anton Pernat-Pender as an uncle a grandfather a cousin or some close relative. No other relationship farther back. The name is still spelled Pirnat in Slovenia.
My relatives in Minnesota Pernat's already did a family search. He just got back this past September 2004 from another trip and has the history back to 1600 and beyond.
It's so much fun to find all this family.

If you are a Pender Pirnat Pernat......and can't find your family and some are from Minnesota or Wisconsin this family may be you!!!

Barbara
