I am not researching this person and I know nothing else about the person. My mother and her father kept newspaper clippings. I am posting them in hopes of helping others.
Samuel Peters, son of Samuel and Martha Haney Peters, was born Oct. 18, 1862, in Illinois. He passed away at Niangua June 1, 1949, at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 13 days. He had spent most of his life in Dallas County. (MO)
Uncle Sam never was married and never joined a church, but he was a strong believer in the Bible.
He is survived by one brother, I.H. Peters, Louisburg, Mo., a number of nieces and nephews, and many friends who will mourn his passing.
Services were held at 3 p.m. June 2, 1949, at the L.B. Jones and Son Funeral Home with Tinsley Ford officiating. Interment was in the Reynolds Chapel Cemetery under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home.
