While at the library copying obits for someone, I managed to get a copy of the following obit. I am not related to this person, but wanted to post it in case it is helpful to someone else.

Mrs. Josephine D. Whirty
Mrs. Josephine D. (Peters) Whirty, of 585 Chelmsford street, widow of William H. Whirty, died yesterday at the Lowell General hospital. She was 84. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ruth W. Tarbell of Lowell and Mrs. Louise A. Pratt of the Chelmsford street address, with whom she made her home; two grandsons, Kenneth A. Tarbell and Richard Pratt; a great-grandson, Andrew Tarbell, all of Lowell; a brother, , John Peters of North Anson, Me., and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Chelmsford Street Baptist church, the Mizpah class of the church, and the Women's society of Christian Service. Mrs. Whirty was a native of Baileyville, N.H., but for the past 25 years had resided in Lowell.
