OBITUARY
Melissa G. Peters
89, of Farmville
Dies February 26
February 28 – Melissa Garrett Peters, 89, of Farmville died on Tuesday, February 26, 2008. She was the widow of the late Wayne Lee Peters. She was the daughter of the late Cleveland S. Garrett and Helen Jamerson Garrett, born in Dillwyn (VA) on March 7, 1918.
She was a retired seamstress for the Hub and the Fashion Post.
Mrs. Peters is survived by a daughter, Katherine P. Webster of Littleton, CO; sisters Grace Mottley of Richmond (VA); and Frances Taylor of Beltsville, MD; brothers, Roy T. Garrett of Farmville, and Earnest Garrett of Dillwyn; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Doyne-Burger-Davis Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 1, from the Farmville Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with interment following at Westview Cemetery, Farmville.
Remembrances may be made in her memory to the Farmville Baptist Church or the American Alzheimer’s Association.
Doyne-Burger-Davis Funeral Home, Farmville, is in charge of arrangements.
