That is interesting and helpful information. I had not done very much research on the Virginia lines. The birthdate for John B. does fit in very well. I would be interested in the children of William and Sarah Cordes. Do you have documentation where their names were acquired? I have found John, William, James, Benjamin, Josiah, Jesse, Anna, MaryAnn and Reuben listed on the rootsweb site with no source other than The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Am wondering if this was perhaps where the list came from.
Interestingly enough, also I have seen the parents of William Plunkett who married Sarah Cordes as John Plunkett II and Frances Frank, and also Thomas and Mary Smith Plunkett. Do you know which is correct?
I am also confused about my John B. Plunkett because if he was indeed the son of William Jr., who was the son of William and Sarah Cordes, then who is the John H. and Dicey Vineyard Plunkett that has been given as his mother and father?
Since my g-g-great grandfather, Alexander was born in S.C. and migrated to Tennessee, I am having a difficult task of connecting my line to the Virginia Plunketts. I'm sure some of them moved there.
Where were William Plunkett Jr. and Lucinda Tharp married? I have seen her last name spelled as "Thorp".
I really would like to get this line established in my mother's lifetime. She was a Plunkett and the g-g grandaughter of Alexander & Martha Jane Rodgers Plunkett of Hickman Co., Tennessee. She is 70 years old now and has always been interested in her ancestry.
