Joy, I was wondering if you had any additional info on the Dial and Hannah Posey posting of 1771? Some information has just come to light which was published by the Franklin Press about some of the churches Rev. Humphrey Posey was associated with in southwestern NC. In one of the articles it states that Hannah Posey mother of H. Posey died May 31, 1834. I have been searching for his parents as he is supposed to be the brother of my ancestor Benjamin who married Rachel Williamson. There was a mention of a William Dial in SC and I have been trying to see if the Dial in the 1771 posting might have been named for him, thus having the name of William Dial Posey. This William Dial moved to SC from VA.
Due to these recent findings I am now sure that Rev. Posey was the son of Hannah. He named one of his sons William Kimsey Posey and a daughter, Hannah. My Benjamin named one of his sons Humphrey and one of his daughters, Hannah.
Do you have any idea who the father of this Dial was? Thanks Libby
