Several people have stated that John Posey cannot be found in the 1790 Spartanburg SC census. For those who haven't yet found it, I believe his name is entered as John 'Pacy' - an otherwise rare and improbable surname found nowhere in a census until 1830, and then only twice.

John 'Pacy' 5 1 2 (5 males over 16 (i.e. b. bef 1774), 1 under 16, prob his wife and a dau or a son's wife)

12 lines above is the newly married Broderick Mason with 2 young sons. Broderick m. John Posey's dau, Jane Posey.

The identifiable male Poseys would seem to be John Sr. & Jr., William and Richard. Since I believe that Thomas and Zephaniah were still in Henry Co., VA (sons of Humphrey of Henry Co. VA), this would leave 1 unidentified Posey over age 16 in the 1790 census.
