Jon, thanks for posting your Poseys of Barnwell information. I have been away from my research for a while, but am trying to get organized again.
In your posting (#2963) on November 30, 2007, the 1850 Census WILLIAM POSEY is listed with "Ziziah" Posey age 38 and 5 children.
ZIZIAH Posey is actually "Keziah Amerson Posey" who married William Posey.
FRANKLIN Posey shown as age 12 is my great, grandfather - Elijah Franklin Posey. He married Elizabeth Coulter (daughter of William Coulter), and they had one son, John Rufus Posey who is my mom's (Mary L. Posey Boggs) Father.
Several years ago,, I had located the "1860 Census Lanier -Post Office: Lanier, 1002nd District - Page 81-Page 89 dated July 17, 1890 - July 25, 1860" showing the POSEYS, JOHNSONS, AND AMERSONS. On this Census, they show #297 as Posey, Elixah F. - CORRECT NAME IS ELIJAH FRANKLIN POSEY.
The Census showed William Posey, age 50, white male, born SC -
