While researching my Posey family, I ran across Lazarus Posey that filed an application for the Cherokee Guion Miller Roles in 1908. The application #43493 and it was rejected. If you are interested in this info, please email me at brightstarrn@hotmail.com. Lazarus listed his b. as 1834 in G; his parents as Martin Posey & Nancy Pemberton; and his grandparents as Nehemiah Posey & Ann Friday (paternal) and as John Pemberton and Polly Garner (maternal).
I hope this info helps you or someone. I am trying to locate my Benjamin Posey b. abt 1786 i SC that lived in Hamilton & Bradley Co., in TN and in Lumpkin Co., GA. I believe he is related to these Poseys, but have not yet made the connection.
