Hi Marshall, I just made a follow-up posting to Lynda McCarn Breeding (her message was posted 4-28-2001, #51 or 52) & it looks like you two descend from the same family. Your Robert Turner Quaintance isn't in the Quaintance Family Book because they got their info from an 1880 Census!!!!! Here was my reply to her.

I'm looking in the Quaintance Family Book that Al Quaintance printed in 1970. It has the children of O-170, Joseph Quaintance & Mary A., age 39, as: John M., age 13; James O., age 11; Mary R., age 9; George A., age, 5; & Lavina, age 1 in the 1880 Smith Co., Tennessee Census. It says there are no further records on this family.

There is more info for Joseph & his ancesters, if you are interested. Do you descend from this family???
