I am seeking info on the parents of Joel Rice b 1795 and Jerusha Rice b 1798 who arrived in Ashtabula county between 1820 and 1822. It is believed that they were born near Granby, CT but raised somewhere in New York state. I have no clues as to their parents. There are other Rices in the area, all at least two townships away, and I cannot seem to find a connection.
Jerusha married Jesse Lindsley (various spellings) in Andover, Ashtabula County, Ohio. By 1823 Joel is a land owner and voting. By the 1830 census he has 5 children and has married his second wife.
There are many Rices in the Granby Ct area, but none seem to have these names.
Can anyone help me link this line?
Other names connected to this line after 1820 are Lindsley, Bradley, Barker and Johnson.
